Grade 416 Stainless Steel
416 martensitic stainless steel is a high hardenability AOD melted alloy with excellent machinability. This alloy has higher sulfur content than 410 Stainless Steel giving it the improved machinability but reduced corrosion resistance. This alloy can be heat treated to good strength levels through quenching and tempering. This grade is typically used in applications that require complex geometries and significant machining such as gears, screws, nuts, and bolts.
