Forging Quality Billet
Universal Stainless offers a wide variety of forging billets. Our standard grade offerings include EF, AOD melting, vacuum arc remelting (VAR), and electro-slag remelting (ESR). The combination of Electric Furnace, AOD melting and bottom pouring, plus state-of-the-art remelting equipment, ensures product that will perform in the most demanding forging and ring rolling operations. Our premium melt offering includes vacuum induction melting (VIM) combined with either vacuum arc melting (VAR) or electro-slag remelting (ESR).

Surface Conditions
Universal Stainless Forging Quality Billets are supplied in a variety of surface conditions, depending upon mill processing and end use. Conditions include as rolled (RCS and slabs), as forged (RCS, rectangles and rounds), peeled (rounds), surface spot ground and ground all over. (Note: certain grades and melt processes require all over grinding.)
