Durable Specialty Steel Products for Oil & Gas

Oil & Gas demand continues to be driven by growth in energy consumption both domestically and abroad. Specialty steels have the requisite properties for the high corrosive and/or varying acidity and chlorine environments found in oil drilling and in chemical process plants. We produce both air-melted and re-melted quality specialty steel in forging quality products as well as finished round bar to satisfy the stringent demands from this market.

Our North Jackson, Ohio facility features a SMX 650 Radial Forge, all of the downstream heat treatment and finishing equipment, as well as a premium melt shop with an ALD VIM  and four VAR remelt furnaces, bringing our total companywide fleet of VARs to eleven. We will also be adding an inert gas ESR furnace at the end of 2016, bringing our total fleet of ESR furnaces to five. The radial forge adds to our existing hot working capabilities, expanding the size range of the products offered, improving product quality and enhancing service levels to our customers.  The addition of the VIM furnace now enables more extensive participation on components throughout the rig, subsea exploration and production, and processing plants with the higher value, premium grades that it produces.
