Grade 4340 Low Alloy Steel

4340 is a low alloy steel with ultra high strength melted as AOD + VAR or VIM + VAR product.  It also possessed good toughness and fatigue strength when heat treated.  This alloy also displays excellent transverse properties even in larger cross sections.   These properties along with the cleanliness of VAR remelting make this alloy an excellent candidate for aerospace applications.
